30 Minutes To Destroy US$1.8M

The early morning fire last Saturday that destroyed this US$1.8-million yacht docked at the Cebu Yacht Club in Barangay Ibo, Lapu-Lapu City reportedly started in the engine room, likely by a short circuit. A crew member told fire investigators that he saw thick smoke coming from inside the M/Y Spirit of Freedom at past 6 am last July 21. The yacht reportedly belongs to a French national who is an executive at a company at MEPZ.
