Farewell To A Well-Loved Runner

Ramon “Ramie” Igaña Jr. was a well-loved member of the local Ungo runners’ group. Friends as well as other triathletes in yesterday’s Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines Triathlon were shocked to learn about his death in the thick of the excitement of yesterday’s race which Cebu hosted for the first time. Igaña, 45, who was riding for his relay team’s bike leg, fell in Barangay Cansojong, Talisay City and reportedly hit his head in the gutter. Race organizers have yet to issue a statement on the incident while family members have decided to keep their silence while waiting for the results of an autopsy. The photo above was taken from Igaña’s Facebook page where he posted many pictures of him and his fellow runners and triathletes.
