Imitation As Flattery

You know you’ve arrived when you’re imitated. The famous Dancing Inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) performed in front of the Capitol this morning as their contribution to the celebration of Cebu Province’s 443rd founding anniversary today (top photo). They danced to Michael Jackson and Journey songs, among others, and, as usual, drew load applause from the audience. Later, Capitol employees in the Legislative Department, in their presentation during the program, donned costumes that paid tribute to the Dancing Inmates (photo above). The employees got second place in the competition. And then came the much-awaited announcement from Gov. Gwen Garcia about the anniversary bonus. Garcia said each employee gets P15,000 on top of the performance incentive.
