Cuenco Backs Out
Cebu City Councilor Joey Daluz (right) looks like he can’t believe the news James Cuenco (left) brought today. In a press conference this morning, James, the son of former congressman Antonio Cuenco, read a statement from his father announcing that he will no longer run for congressman in Cebu City’s south district. He is instead “passing on the torch to the younger generation of Team Rama, particularly Councilor Daluz whom I am certain can ably continue the legacy that I’m leaving behind.” The elder Cuenco said his family has been “begging” him for his time. “Therefore today, I am going to set aside my political aspirations so I can focus on my retirement and be with my family.”
